Miss Sporty Lipstick Review

Hello! Let me start of with an absolutely massive apology, I know I’m three days late with this post but I’ve had a really tough past few days but better late then never right?! So I’m going to review this lipstick:

It’s miss sporty’s lipstick in the colour bubble gum.

First thing I have to say about this is it smells and tastes like watermelon!! I love that so much!! If you don’t like watermelon then I was definitely recommend you didn’t buy any miss sporty lipstick.

It’s is very pink based as you can hopefully tell in these picture:

The packaging I think is very sleek just plain black and simple which I strangely love.

Now on to the actual wear, well it doesn’t have the most incredible lasting power that might just be because I lick it of all the time cause I love the taste.. oops! I find myself applying it a few times throughout the day but apart from that it looks absolutely gorgeous on and smells and tastes amazing so if it lasted just a little longer It could qualify as my favourite lipstick.

All in all its about four stars out of five and I will definitely be buying it again!

NYC: Smooth skin; Loose Face Powder

Hello! So I’m sat writing to you as I apply my brand new nail wraps which are stunning! but I have noticed I keep going on about nails in posts so I thought I’d mix it up and review this:

New York Colour
otherwise known as NYC smooth skin loose face powder in the colour translucent.

I love this powder so so so much! I brought it because I heard my friend going on about it and at just £2.99 I couldn’t really complain! So I picked it up and tried it. It is very fine and easy to apply

It just perfectly applies and makes my face look so soft! I apply it last after my foundation and concealer as it really seals my make up and makes my face look really matte which is essential for me as I have very oily skin. It last for a very long time and is just my must have.

The only con I have about this is that it’s very hard to travel with, as its a lose powder this is how it comes out

So when I’m on the move it tends to get everywhere and that obviously isn’t great, but apart from that I completely LOVE this product and I do highly recommend it to everyone!

NYC lipstick review.

Hello everybody!:)
So here is my weekly post and this week it’s about a certain lipstick I brought a couple weeks ago which I now adore!. Here is the lipstick

please excuse my incredibly chipped nails!
So as you can see the colour is called ‘Red Flame’ but to me it’s more of a dark pink then a red.

The price was only £1.99 bargain!
The packaging is very ‘cheap’ which is probably because it was cheap I don’t like the clear lid and how far it sits up in the stick.
Although that is my only complaint this colour is so gorgeous and I think really anyone could pull this colour off!

It’s very pigmented and last’s for absolute ever! I use this as my go to pretty much everyday as when I get home after a long day there is still a hint of colour there!

Nail Art Tutorial.

Hello everyone! So today is a bad day for me I’ve woken up with a dreadful cold and haven’t left my bed all day but I have a carnival to go to tonight so I’m trying to mute my cold by drinking gallons of tea and I heard eating chocolate helps? *I probably told myself this so I think it’s ok to stuff my face with chocolate all day*. So whilst I’m lying in my bed felling all sorry for myself I decided to check up on The Beauty Department’s blog. I was scrolling through and I saw a nail art tutorial which was beautiful. It’s safe to say I’m a huge fan of nail art but never do it myself because I’ll probably be pretty crap, but I thought this looked easy so I thought I’d give it a crack myself. Here it is:

It looks a lot better on the beauty departments tutorial but that’s what mine looks like, hopefully yours will come out better then mine did. So I used these three nail polishes:

From L>R: Barry M’s metallic nail effects in gold, Avon Nailwear Pro+ in sea breeze and Avon Nailwear Pro in sequinned turquoise
For the base coat I used the Avon Nailwear pro in sequinned turquoise which I reviewed the other day. I left that to dry then I poured a blob of both the Avon Nailwear pro+ in sea breeze and Barry M’s metallic nail effects in gold and dipped my nail art tool *which was actually just a normal pen.. weird I know*in to the sea breeze colour and put medium sized spots on to each finger and left them to dry. Take note: Keep wiping the nail polish of the end of the pen to stop it drying up and creating a bigger ball at the end which would make the spots larger. Then I dipped the pen slightly lighter into the golden colour and placed spots in between the lighter green spots. I then left that to dry and applied a clear coat over the top just to prevent chipping. So here is my finished nail art again:

Avon’s Ultra Color Rich Brilliance lipstick- Vermillion

Good evening/morning/afternoon whatever it is for you! Well I’m on a bit of a high since X factor cause some people (kye) kicked absolutely ass! As I’m absolutely buzzing I’m going to write a post for you! You don’t know this yet but I’m an absolute sucker for a good lipstick especially an bold colour and this is Avons vermillion lipstick:

So it’s described as “rich moisturizing color matched with shimmering prismatic pearls” shimmering it definitely does that! It’s got tiny gold flecks that are so pretty but I may be again a sucker for shinny, pretty things but for some reason I’m not to keen on how shimmery this is. I feel like the flecks are rubbing against my lips as if I’m rubbing sand on my lips? don’t know how I’d know that You can sort of see the flecks in this picture and yes it’s pretty but to grainy?

There are fifteen shades to choose from: Radiant Peony, Sienna Sparkle, Vermillion, Sumptuous Cerise, Brilliant Ruby, Berry Glitz, Pink Paparazzi, Rouge Luxury, Aurora Rose, Amethyst Sunset, Crimson Twilight, Gilded Velvet, Bronze Brilliance, Midnight Gleam, and Sparkling Sable.
I will probably be purchasing another couple once I have a bit of money behind me.

But now to the performance of the lipstick, it last for a fair while but is quite a creamy based lipstick so if you’re eating or drinking it seems to disappear and smudge quite quickly. It also leaves a slight stain in my lips once its faded.

All in all they colour is pretty, quality is good minus the flecks just under £10 may be a tad on the expensive side if you like shimmery lipsticks then I’d definitely recommend this!

Avon: Nailwear Pro Sequinned Turquoise

Hello! I did write a post yesterday but it seems to somehow of disappeared so I’m so sorry for the lack of posts! So I’m sat hear listening to the wanted on repeat, whilst studying for my childcare assignment and I thought it’d be a good idea to write a post about a new nail varnish my nan brought me last week and it is so pretty! Here it is:

I love anything that sparkles and this definitely sparkles, makes me feel so happy! Ah!

I was complimented a lot at school people were like ‘your nails look gorgeous’ it’s actually not allowed at my school (wearing nail varnish that is) but even my teachers were like ‘oo where did you get that from?’ So it’s defiantly a popular colour.

I think it was around £2.50 so it’s not ridiculously priced like some nail varnishes.

I also love this nail varnish because its so easy to apply! I’m dreadful at painting nails and I’m not lying I honestly can’t paint to save my life! But with this I actually painted my nails myself and I don’t think they came out to bad pretty impressive even if I do say so myself! It’s a dark greeny colour though so it’s not easy to match with outfits though, but with dark green being one of my most worn colours it’s easy for me to match!

New York Colour: Smooth Skin, Mousse Foundation

Good evening/afternoon/morning
I’m sat here on a dreadful Monday evening ‘revising’ for an important maths exam, listening to music is partially getting me through it (Kye Sones voice is heaven and lawson’s new album is Devine!) but I thought doing a little post would just brighten up my day! So I’m going to stop rambling and get on with it!

Here is the actual product I’m going o be talking about:

And as you can see my the title it’s by a very affordable makeup brand called ‘New York Colour’ or in shops its abbreviated to ‘NYC’ this particular product is the mousse foundation which is HEAVEN! It applies so effortlessly, it feels like I’m rubbing a soft, amazing wool onto my skin!

I just can’t believe the texture, it feels so soft and fluffy! I’ve tried a lot of different mousse foundation’s before and I have never been more impressed with one than this and it’s cheap which basically means it ticks all the right boxes for me;
cheap: tick
covers blemishes: tick
soft: tick
And more!
The smell is a tad bit on the ‘iffy’ side (wow proper technological word for you there!) but all in all I shall defiantly be buying this product again for £2.99 I can’t complain!

Maybelline BB cream

So I was quite late to jump on the whole BB cream bandwagon as I was very skeptical about buying this product as in my eyes it was a high price.

So before I actually brought the product I decided to order some free samples. When they arrived I was very excited and rushed straight to my room to try this product for the first time. I was impressed! It blended in flawlessly and gave my face a radiant glow.

The next day I got up and rushed into town to buy some for the first time and was delighted to see it was on offer at ‘2 for the price of 1’ so I happily snapped that deal up! But when I was getting ready the next morning I put it on and was really disappointed, my skin looked shiny with this product on and brought out all my flaws. Putting some of my powder on top it looked better so I went out but could not stop worrying about how my face looked all day. When I got home I looked in the mirror and felt disgusted at what was staring back at me! My whole face looked greasy enough to fry and whole bag of chips on!

I looked in to this and read what other people’s opinions on this product were and everyone seemed positive about the product and said they loved it. I think my problem was the SPF protection, every product I’ve ever used with SPF in has always made my face shiny so I guess that’s just my problem.

All in all I won’t be buying this product again for myself, although my nan loves it so I won’t be surprised If she makes me buy her some for Christmas!

Has anyone else had any problems with this product? I’d love to hear what you think of maybellines BB cream! Also have you tried a BB cream that you recommended to me? I’m always on the look out for new products!
